Ryan Cayabyab and Lea Salonga lament over the dropping of “Ang Larawan” in different cinemas. Lea shared a tweet last December 26, Wednesday. While Ryan posted the said tweet Christmas Day last December 25, Tuesday. “Ang Larawan,” a 2017 Metro Manila Film Festival entry, started being pulled out off cinemas the same day it premiered.
Ryan wrote on the said tweet:
“So… we lost out in Trinoma. Our film Larawan will be replaced tomorrow. Hope we get a return engagement. Thanks very much tho those who supported the film today!!!! People who watched today were profuse in praise. Salamat muli! Try catching it in other cinemas.”
Then, he followed with another tweet:
“Try catching it where it is still showing. It will suffer the same fate if people don’t watch as soon as they can. I still have my fingers crossed. am hopeful!”
Lea Salonga also professed her feelings about the loss of the said film in some cinemas.
“So, why is #Larawan not showing in more theaters? Isn’t this a film festival? Sigh. Nakakalungkot naman. HIndi nakakagulat, which makes it even more sad.”
Also netizens also shared their disappointment on the said pull-out. One even went on to the length to create a thread on why people should see “Ang Larawan.”
Then, he followed up the tweet with another one:

Meanwhile, film and TV director Jose Javier Reyes asked the theater owners to consider the film:
“Just one final shoutout: theater owners … please give ANG LARAWAN a chance. #AngLarawanPagbigyan”
