- In an interview with PEP.ph, Ruru explained why.
- Alden also justified his support for Ruru.
Ruru Madrid considers Alden Richards as his mentor. Ruru admits that he always gets advise from the Pambansang Bae himself. They both interact in the comedy-variety show, Sunday Pinasaya. Moreover, Ruru will lead in a teleserye, Sherlock Jr., first offered to Alden.
In an interview with PEP.ph, Ruru was asked a question about what he felt when he received the role. He answered:
“Sabi ko nga, every time na tinatanong ako, masaya ako dahil nabigay rin sa akin itong project na ito dahil para ibigay kay Alden, ibig sabihin, it’s a big project.”
Then, Ruru added:
“Kumbaga, siya po yung nagtuturo sa akin ever since. Like, nung bago pa lang ako, siya ang nagsasabi sa akin kung paano dapat makisama sa mga tao sa lahat, even sa mga crew and staff. So, si Alden, parang kuya ko na talaga siya. Siya yung laging nagtuturo sa akin.”
Moreover, Ruru also noted Alden didn’t mention anything about any further projects, but the latter would always ask him how he was doing whenever they see each other.
“Well, wala naman siyang sinabi, pero every time nagkikita kami, lagi siyang nagtatanong, ‘Kamusta? Kamusta yung soap? Kamusta yung story?’ ganyan. So, sa akin, okay naman po. Kumbaga, hindi pa rin niya nakakalimutan na magpaalala.”
In a separate interview with PEP.ph, Alden confirmed that he received an offer as the title role in Sherlock Jr. but the said teleserye underwent a lot of story changes. Alden also told PEP that he felt happy that Ruru received and accepted the role.
“Okey lang naman po sa akin yun, not really a big deal.”
Alden also added:
“The potential of Ruru Madrid is really there. Si Ruru, nakakasama ko siya sa Sunday PinaSaya. He has the potential as an actor, talagang pinaghihirapan niya lahat ng roles na binibigay sa kanya. He deserves to have a lead in soap opera in primetime.”
