  • Moviegoers will love these various genres of movie that the upcoming year would offer.

This upcoming year, country’s major film outfits and distributors are already gearing up to offer fresh and new stories to Filipino moviegoers. Various film genres such as romance, comedy, drama, action and horror are present in our list of movies to look forward.

LionhearTV collated 18 upcoming Pinoy movies this 2018 that will surely hit the box-office and award-giving bodies here and abroad.

Mr. and Mrs. Cruz (Viva Films)

Starring Ryza Cenon and JC Santos, the movie “Mr. And Mrs. Cruz” is written and directed by Sigrid Andrea Bernardo, who also helmed the box office hit “Kita Kita.”

Ang Dalawang Mrs. Reyes (Star Cinema)

Award-winning actresses Angelica Panganiban and Judy Ann Santos will team up on the comedy-drama movie “Ang Dalawang Mrs. Reyes.” The movie is directed by award-winning director Jun Robles Lana.

Buy Bust (Viva Films)

Award-winning director Erik Matti is all set to share her newest masterpiece “Buy Bust” starring Anne Curtis and MMA Champion Brandon Vera.

Never Not Love You (Viva Films)

“Never Not Love You” will serve as the silver screen comeback of James Reid and Nadine Lustre under the direction of “On The Wings Of Love” director Antoinette Jadaone.

The Significant Other (CineKo Productions)

Helmed by award-winning director Joel Lamangan, “The Significant Other” features the powerful casts of Tom Rodriguez, Erich Gonzales and Lovi Poe.

Ang Pambansang Third Wheel (Viva Films)

Viva Films’ will feature the new movie love team of Sam Milby and Yassi Pressman in the movie “Ang Pambansang Third Wheel.” The two Kapamilya stars first worked together in 2016 movie, “Camp Sawi.”

Meet Me in St. Gallen (Viva Films)

Scriptwriter-actress Bela Padilla will team up with former child actor Carlo Aquino in the movie “Meet Me In St. Gallen.” The movie was shot in Switzerland under Viva Films.

Darna (Star Cinema and Reality Entertainment)

The much-awaited superheroine movie “Darna,” will set to conquer the Philippine cinema this 2018 which stars the ever beautiful Liza Soberano. Though, until now the actress who will play the role of Valentina is not yet announced.

I Need You Back (Star Cinema)

One of Star Cinema’s much-awaited movie of 2018 “I Need You Back” will feature the hit love team of Richard Gutierrez and Angel Locsin after almost 10 years. The film also stars the award-winning actress Angelica Panganiban.

My Fairy Tail Love Story (Regal Films)

“My Fairy Tail Love Story” is the first movie of ElNella love team of Elmo Magalona and Janella Salvador. The movie is directed by award-winning director Jun Robles Lana.

20 Again (Viva Films)

Hit Korean movie “Miss Granny” will be having its Pinoy movie adaptation via “20 Again” which stars Sarah Geronimo. The film will also feature hunk actor James Reid as Sarah’s grandson.

Kasal (Star Cinema)

Award-winning hunk actor Derek Ramsay set to make his Star Cinema comeback via “Kasal” alongside Bea Alonzo and Paulo Avelino. The movie will be directed by award-winning director Ruel Bayani.

Sid And Aya (Viva Films)

T.G.I.S stars Dingdong Dantes and Anne Curtis set to reunite in the Irene Villamor’s movie “Sid And Aya” under Viva Films. This will be the first time that Dingdong and Anne as a love team.

Mama’s Girl (Regal Films)

Kapamilya stars Diego Loyzaga and Sofia Andres will star in Regal Films’ “Mama’s Girl.” The films will also feature  Sylvia Sanchez, Alyana Asistio, Karen Reyes and Heaven Peralejo with the film’s director Connie Macatuno.

Pedro Penduko (Viva Films)

Iconic superhero “Pedro Penduko” will make its movie comeback with its new actor, James Reid to portray the role. The 24-year old actor started his martial arts training as preparation for the superhero role.

Eerie (Star Cinema)

ABS-CBN President Charo Santos-Concio will make the horror movie, “Eerie” after almost four decades. The veteran actress-TV host will star alongside Bea Alonzo under the hands of Mikhail Red.

The Nurse (Viva Films)

Nadine Lustre will have her solo movie project this 2018 under Viva Films. “The Nurse,” is a horror flick that features the ‘Grand Slam’ actress Lorna Tolentino.

Ang Babaeng Allergic Sa Wifi

Kapamilya actress Sue Ramirez will star in her new movie “Ang Babaeng Allergic Sa Wifi” alongside Jameson Blake, Jerome Ponce and Angeli Nicole Sanoy. The movie is directed by award-winning director Jun Robles Lana under IdeaFirst Company.

Indeed, 2018 will be filled with good quality movies produced by our biggest film outfits in the country.
