The 24-year old musician led the charts with her “Himig Handog 2017” winning song “Titibo-Tibo”
Fresh from winning in the “Himig Handog 2017,” Moira dela Torre has topped the Philippines Top 50 charts of the leading digital music service Spotify with her winning song “Titibo-Tibo.”
In an announcement released on Monday by Spotify, Moira has officially ranked first in its Top 50 charts in the country, making her the first OPM artist to secure the top spot. The music streaming site has also included the artist in their Top Hits PH playlist + cover feature.
Moira’s light, feel-good song “Titibo-Tibo,” composed by this year’s Himig Handog grand winner Libertine Amistoso, is the first ever OPM track to lead the Philippines Top 50, previously topped by foreign entries.
Aside from her Himig Handog feat, the 24-year-old musician has been making waves this year as she also made and popularized a wonderful cover of Moonstar 88’s “Torete,” the official theme song of the recent Star Cinema flick “Love You To The Stars and Back.” She also sang “Malaya,” the theme song of last year’s movie, “Camp Sawi.”
Early next year, the season 1 contestant of “The Voice of the Philippines” is expected to release her very own, much-awaited solo album under Star Music.
