- Metro Manila Film Festival released the new design of trophy made from wood.
- Clifford Espinosa, chief designer of Espinosa Arts and Design, explained the design of the said trophy.
Clifford Espinosa, chief designer of Espinosa Arts and Design, designed the new Metro Manila Film Festival 2017 trophy. The new trophy, made and designed from wood, looks a lot like equipment used in media.
Clifford actually explained:
“Kung mapapansin niyo ang clapperboard tapos nagiging megaphone, ang media po kasi ng film is light and sound. So, nagiging waves po iyan as they travel in space. At the same time, gawa po ito sa lumang kahoy, wala pong bagong kahoy na ginamit dahil may advocacy kami ng manual demonstration.”
Then, he added:
“Itong tatlong butas naman po, ito ‘yung three major components ng filmmaking–‘yung story, ‘yung tao, at saka technology.”
Additionally, he continued:
“Yun namang dalawang kulay ng kahoy, mayroong light brown at dark brown. Ito ‘yung saya at lungkot ng pelikulang Filipino.”
Jamil Santos, then, tweeted photos on his Twitter account. The caption read:
