- Kris Aquino posted Ninoy Aquino’s only televised interview during Martial Law on Instagram.
- However, Kellogs Dayag didn’t appreciate Kris’ caption on the said post.
- Kellogs also stated that Filipinos don’t owe Ninoy their freedom of speech, expression and assembly.
Kris Aquino posted a video on Instagram celebrating her father’s birthday last November 27, Monday. She re-watched Ninoy Aquino’s only televised interview during Martial Law.
Kris shared how similar they are. Moreover, she then added:
” And the truth is you do owe this man the fact that you have FREEDOM OF SPEECH, FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION & FREEDOM OF THE PRESS TODAY- because he had the balls to actually DIE for his country- in super clear language, HINDI SYA INURUNGAN NG BAYAG KAHIT ALAM NYA NUNG PABABA SYA NG EROPLANO NA BABARILIN NA SYA SA TARMAC ng AIRPORT.”
The said post attracted both positive and negative comments. One overseas Filipino worker in America, Kellogs Dayag, ranted on a Facebook Live regarding the said statement.
He started:
“You know what, Miss Kris Aquino. I have to tell you. It is not our utang sa ama mo our freedom. Sabi niya, ang freedom daw natin na natamasa sa Pilipino ay utang daw natin sa kanyang ama. Kasi binigay daw ang buhay ng kanyang ama sa atin. Dahil daw sa kanyang ama, mayroon tayong freedom of speech, freedom of expression, freedom of assembly and everything.”
He continued with:
“Ma’am Kris Aquino, I tell you. realize that your father was one of the culprit why Martial Law was declared. Because of his vested interest, because of his personal interest to be the president of the country.”
Kellogs also stated that Ninoy started a rebellion against President Ferdinand Marcos.
“Thus, at the streets, there were chaos. There were lawlessness. There were anarchy.”
Mr. Dayag explained one of the reasons why Filipinos doesn’t have any debt from Ninoy.
“And did you remember? Dahil sa greed ng ama mo, nakipagkonsabo siya sa Malaysia, para ang Sabbah makuha sa Malaysia. Binigay niya, sa katraydruan niya ang Sabbah sa Malaysia. Para ang Malaysia magkatig sa kanya. Para armasan ang mga NPA sa Mindanao. How’s that? And you tell us that the freedom of speech and expression that we have ay utang namin sa ama mo? Wala kaming utang sa ama mo.”
