In the latest episode of the program, Day Off, Kapuso star Janine Gutierrez couldn’t stop tearing up. She even joked that she turned out as the Day Off winner who cried more often than others. As Janine and guest host, Juancho Trivino, ends their mission, her assistant, Amelita Espera, surprised her with a special guest.
Ate Amy, as Janine would call her, brought her older sister, Patria Espera, who used to be Janine’s “yaya.” When Janine moved out of her childhood home, she doesn’t see Yaya Pat all that much anymore. When served her favorite ‘tuyo,’ she immediately recalled memories with her parents and Yaya Pat.
When Janine saw Yaya Pat, she immediately hugged her.
“Naiiyak ako. Oh my God, ako na ‘yung pinaka-iyakin na Day Off winner.”
Then, Janine continued to admit:
“Nagco-comment na lang ako sa mga Facebook pictures ni Yaya kasi ‘di ako nakakauwi ngayon. Kasi, tuloy tuloy yung taping.”
Yaya Pat even shared how when a young Janine asked her mom if she could start working so she could pay for her Yaya’s medical bills. Yaya Pat gave her former alaga a pair of flip-flops that she used to buy when Janine was still young. Then, she gave self-guide books to help Janine in her career.
“Basta anak, mahalaga ka sa akin. Sobra kitang mahal. Love, Yaya Pat.”
