Jane Oineza, Jameson Blake, Maris Racal and Jon Lucas topbill the supernatural teenage horror “Haunted Forest”
GET READY TO BE SHOOKT, clattered and rolled by the four of the most talented teen stars of today, Jane Oineza, Jameson Blake, Maris Racal and Jon Lucas as they topbill the latest horror masterpiece of Regal Entertainment Inc. titled “Haunted Forest.” The upcoming supernatural teen horror will be released in cinemas nationwide on Christmas day (December 25) as part of the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2017.
After their respective remarkable TV and movie performances, Jane, Jameson, Maris and Jon are all determined to raise the bar and share more undiscovered facets of themselves as actors.
“Haunted Forest’ is both a big challenge and blessing for all of us. It is a challenge because it’s the only horror film in the MMFF lineup and it’s a Christmas blessing because not everyone is given the opportunity to be part of Regal’s 60-year legacy. No matter what generation you are from, almost all Filipinos grew up watching Regal movies like the classic films Aswang, Tiyanak, Haunted Mansion, and most of all, the Shake, Rattle, and Roll series,” shared Jane who is now dubbed as the “Princess of Horror Movies” with her sterling performances in her back-to-back recent horror films.
Apart from her horror roles, Jane was highly acclaimed by the nation when she received the finalist certificate from New York Festivals 2013 and nomination from the 41st International Emmy Awards for her Maalaala Mo Kaya episode in 2012.
Like Jane, Maris, Jameson and Jon consistently go all-out in honing their craft as actors. Last year, Maris earned nods for her funny yet notable supporting role in “Vince and Kath and James.” While It’s Showtime Hashtags members, Jameson and Jon have both proven that they do not only perform great on the dancefloor but also in their respective independent films.
“The viewers will get to know a new Jane, Maris, Jameson and Jon while watching ‘Haunted Forest.’ In the film, they will not just be scared or be in love, they will be able to learn family values through the different characters. But of course, Sitsit is another must-see because he or she is someone we won’t forget even after watching the movie,” shared Jameson the other half of the newest love team today, JaneSon!
Aside from the Regal teen stars, also part of the “Haunted Forest” are seasoned actors Raymart Santiago and Joey Marquez. Completing the cast are Jerald Napoles, Betong Sumaya, Myrtle Sarrosa, Miho Nishida, Beverly Salviejo, Fiona Yang and Kelvin Miranda.
Under the direction of international award-winning filmmaker Ian Loreños, “Haunted Forest” will resolve around the estranged relationship of Aris (Raymart), a policeman and her daughter, Nica (Jane). Their bond will further worsen when Aris got reassigned to the province which Nica detests. How will a haunted forest change the lives Aris and Nica? Will the dreaded “Sitsit” strengthen or is it off to destroy Nica’s friendship with Mitch (Maris), RJ (Jameson) and Andre (Jon)? In the end, will Aris discover and solve the mystery behind the haunted forest?
