During the multiple-car collision in EDSA-Shaw tunnel, ABS-CBN reporter Doris Bigornia was injured after their crew van was crashed by a Montero sport.
According to reports, the accident involved five vehicles including Doris’ team.
Doris was rushed to Medical City in Pasig and the doctors said that she only gained minor injuries. Other injured were a driver of a motorcycle, the driver and a passenger of Toyota Vios which was a Grab vehicle, and a passenger of a Montero Sport with an unspecified plate number. Another Mitsubishi Mirage was involved in the traffic mishap.
According to the report published by Inquirer.net, MMDA supervising officer for operations Bong Nebrija said that the accident happened when a Montero Sport with plate number PQS 314 on Edsa-Shaw tunnel northbound “suddenly went wild,” and crossed the center island and rammed into a Toyota Vios bound south.
The Vios then crashed into another Montero Sport which flipped and hit the van of Bigornia and her crew. The impact also led to a chain of collisions involving a Mirage and a motorcycle.
“Nag-sudden unintended acceleration, talagang bumilis [‘yung Montero Sport with plate number], biglang umarangkada,” Nebrija said.
