Coco Martin visited Bacoor, Cavite last December 21, Thursday. He recently started circulating the Philippines to promote “Ang Panday.” Bacoor, Cavite Mayor Lani Mercado welcomed Coco with open arms.
Coco posted a photo on Instagram last December 21, Thursday. The caption also read:
“Salamat po Bacoor Mayor @lanirevilla ang pamilya Revilla ang kaunaunahang nag bigay sakin ng tiwala na makagawa ng pelikula sa MMFF na ang AGIMAT kaya sobra din po ang pag papasalamat ko sa kanina! Salamat po sa mainit na pagwelcome at pagsuporta nyo sakin Tita Lani at sa kaibigan ko si Jolo God bless po!!!😊😊😊 #AngPandaySaCavite #AngPanday”
The media had the chance to cover the courtesy call. Coco made this an opportunity to thank the Revilla family.
“Kasi, noong nagsisimula pa lang po akong mag-artista, sila po ‘yung kauna-unahang nagtiwala sa akin dahil ako po ang ginawa nilang kontrabida that time ni Jolo.”
“And then ‘yung suportang ibinigay nila sa akin – tito Bong, ni Jolo that time, ‘ta Lani – eh sabi ko nga, hindi ko makakalimutan ‘yun dahil ‘yun ang kauna-unahang pagsali ko sa Metro Manila Filmfest at nandito ako ngayon para magpasalamat po.”
Coco continued.
Lani was asked to react on Coco’s portrayal to “Ang Panday” which her husband used to play.
She started, “Kinikilabutan po ako.”
and then went on:
“At nakikita po natin talaga ang talento ni Coco. Hindi lang po siya artista. Nagulat po ako, para na siyang si Ramon Revilla, Sr. Producer, writer, director. So, lahat po, nasa kanya na, artista pa. So, I wish him luck.”
“Alam kong titiba itong pelikulang ito katulad ng lahat ng Panday movies na laging tinatangkilik ng mga kabataan lalo na. Salamat at ibinalik ulit ang Panday. And I’m sure natutuwa rin si Sen. Bong na nakadalaw din siya rito. Nagpa-picture nga siya kasama ang standee” the Cavite Mayor added.
Senator Bong Revilla portrayed the said character in “Sa Dugo ng Panday” in 1993 and followed in “Ang Panday” in 2009 then, “Ang Panday 2” in 2011.
