The 24-year old actress shared the advice of Pia and Maxine.
This November 26, 2017, a new Miss Universe will be crowned in Las Vegas.
Miss Universe-Philippines Rachel Peters is undergoing an intensive training for the much-awaited gathering of the most beautiful women in the universe. The 26-year old beauty queen felt overwhelmed for the warm support she received from the former Miss Universe-Philippines, Pia Wurtzbach and Maxine Medina.
Rachel Peters shared how she approached Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach to give her tips and advice for the upcoming pageant.
“She’s Pia Wurtzbach, so I get whatever advice I can get from her. I send her a message once, like out of the blue, thinking she might not reply. I said, ‘You know I’m getting really nervous, I’m not really sure what I should really focusing on like this far out this pageant.’ So I said, ‘What do you do, what you were doing three months before the pageant?’” she shared.
“She replied, ‘You just have to enjoy the journey, and when you get there, just have fun.’ And she also said to me, ‘If you don’t enjoy it and you’re stressed all the time you will regret it.’ So that’s the most important advice she gave me,” she added.
Aside from Pia, Maxine Media becomes an inspiration for Rachel to do good in Miss Universe pageant.
“Si Maxine, yun din to have fun and try not to let the bashers affect you. Kasi alam naman natin na si Maxine really had a difficult time with the bashers and seeing her come out of it as a better person is inspiring to me and when I went through to my time of super bashing, I remembered Maxine, and I will remember that advice she gave,” she said.
“Noong una, I fight back. Actually minsan I still fight back kasi ng sarap ng feeling e, you know when someone is saying so much bad stuff to you, it’s so hard to say nothing and I know naman na that’s the only thing to do. But it’s also your protecting yourself and your family, the moment anything they say about my family, my boyfriend, you’re screwed, because I will fight back and I will not stop until I win,” she shared how he handled bashers.
On the other hand, Rachel also shared the strong candidates for her in the Miss Universe 2017.
“I think some of the strong contenders are Thailand, South Africa, and of course Colombia and Venezuela kasi sobrang dami din ng trainings nila. However you cannot really say who are they kasi you can edit pictures, you can fake it until you make it. But at the end of the day if they want you in person they will be the one to say if you’re genuine or not and I think it really plays a really big role in the pageant,” she said.
