If love is sweeter the second time around, revenge is more bitter the second time around.
That is how ABS-CBN’s feisty teleserye has proven with the return of the character of Lily Cruz.
On October 9, Wildflower shocked TVlandia with the fiery return of Lily Cruz after the much talked about “death” of Ivy Aguas. Dressed in gold, Lily Cruz scored great ratings, easily beating its competitor “Wowowin” and skyrocketing to daytime’s number one spot.
“Wildflower” on that day posted a ratings of 9.8% vs Wowowin’s 7.5% as reported by AGB Nielsen NUTAM People survey and a massive 33.8% vs 18.0% on Kantar Media.
The whole week also showed Maja Salvador’s teleserye winning over its competitor on both AGB Nielsen and Kantar Media numbers.
Making true to Ivy Aguas/Lily Cruz’ tagline that “she is indestructible”, “Wildflower” is indeed indestructible because aside from the rating numbers, Wildflower also scored wins in all fronts of social and traditional media.
Social Media
The show has rocked Twitter with netizens expressing their awe and delight on production values and Maja’s acting skills.
There were also those who didn’t let the iconic scenes get past their creative minds and created funny viral memes.
The episode’s video uploaded on ABS-CBN’s Youtube channel has also raked more than 1.1 million views as of writing.
Artists reactions
But not only netizens praised and appreciated the show, even fellow Kapamilya stars and rival Kapuso artists are vocal in their praise for the fiery and feisty teleserye.
Maja Salavador’s intense “Wildflower” fight scene receives praises even from GMA Network stars
With this latest feat, Wildflower is perfect to be lined-up in ABS-CBN’s Kapamilya Gold because it is one of its treasures. And just like gold, Wildflower proved that it is really indestructible.
After making Ivy Aguas a household name and a few bumps along the way coinciding with her death, Lily Cruz’ comeback is like a phoenix rising from the ashes. And as they say, when one character dies a new one will be born, Lily Cruz’ re-birth has proven Wildflower’s power and relevance to Filipino television viewers. And how indestructible the program is.
