- Kim revealed that starring as lead character in a horror film was a big leap for her
“Chinita Princess” Kim Chiu took risks this time in her showbiz career. After being the face of Kapamilya primetime drama series and romantic comedy movies, she finally ventured into something more challenging. Last November 1, in time for Halloween, she released her versatility in headlining “The Ghost Bride,” which successfully captured the attention of the Filipino movie-goers.
Horror is something Kim would’ve never seen herself being known for but she tried her luck. In an interview with Inside Showbiz, she confessed that she got afraid of taking the main role in the horror film directed by Chito Roño.
“Hindi ko alam kung masaya ako o kakabahan ako. Andun ‘yung mixed emotions. After so many years, binigyan na nila ako ng solo movie kaya grabe talaga ‘yung pressure,” she said. “Grabe ‘yung ako ang magdadala ng buong pelikula! Kaya ako natatakot. Wala akong sisisihing iba, sarili ko lang.”
The 27-year-old former “Pinoy Big Brother” big winner shared how it she showed a completely different Kim in the movie.
“Hindi ko comfort zone ang horror. This is really something different. 180 degrees ang ikot ng pelikulang ito para sa ‘kin.”
