Jameson denied being director’s favorite.
On the latest interview of Hashtag member Jameson Blake with PUSH.com, he admitted being pressured on his “CinemaOne Originals” Best Supporting Actor award. The 20-year old actor said how other’s expectations inspired him to be good on his craft.
“Meron na rin kasing nag-i-expect lalo na yung iba kasi nga best supporting actor ka na, eh. So, siyempre napi-pressure ako,” he said.
“But then, when I get used to it kasi, nako-cool down naman yon, eh. Parang ‘wag mo na lang isipin yon. You just have to relax talaga. Wag mong isipin yung… take a deep breath and then focus lang, yon yung iniisip ko lagi,” he added.
Jameson also aware about the comparison with Ronnie Alonte in terms of acting and projects.
“Actually, siya yung nauuna sa lahat ng Hashtags na may mga projects talaga – may movie, may teleserye. Tapos before nakasama ko siya sa A Love To Last.
“Well, hindi naman sa mas magaling ako kay Ronnie, siguro may mga strength and stuff like that lang. Siguro, may mga strength ako especially pag galit.
“I don’t judge the person, pero yung mga nakikita ko sa YouTube, mga comments, ang dami nilang nagsasabi na ganun nga. It’s flattering of course if someone said na mas magaling ka.
“It also helps me, ganun. And if it’s comparing to Ronnie, well that’s another story. It’s up to them naman kung ano yung sinasabi nila.
“Ako, I won’t judge myself na I’m better or anything, but if that what they see then, eh, di ganun talaga. Sila naman yung nagde-decide, eh. Nothing against him,” he said.
After winning his first acting award for his performance in “2 Cool 2 be 4gotten,” Jameson continuously received movie projects. After his stint in 2017 CinemaOne Originals entry “Nay,” he is now gearing up for his upcoming movie with Janella Salvador under Jason Paul Laxamana.
With this, the Kapamilya actor was accussed to be director’s favorite for his numerous movie offers.
“Never akong naka-experience ng ganun. Siguro, may mga favoritism sa showbiz, like yung mga directors, mas gusto nila yung ganito, napansin ko yon.
“Pero like sa Hashtags, gusto nila equal talaga, eh. Pero minsan mahirap din kasi yung iba, may mga projects na and yung iba hindi naman masyadong busy so it’s hard to tell, it’s really hard.
“So far, feeling ko hindi naman ako favorite or something ng mga director. I’m just getting good breaks lang siguro.
“If someone would say na parang ako yung one of the top sa Hashtags, well siguro let’s say in terms of getting projects. It’s a good sign naman, at least I can say na I’m blessed to have these stuff. It’s flattering naman and nice to hear naman but I don’t like to compare kasi with each other, eh.
“Ayokong ganun, I don’t want to be competitive with everyone, pero if that’s how it is, yung mga ginagawa mo, yung mga projects will put you on the top, eh, di maganda naman,” he ended.
