In Philippine showbiz, network switching is common nowadays. Similar to any other profession, celebrities made some risky career move for their craft and professional growth. With only three big networks that could help them showcase their talents regularly, some artists tend to transfer just to find the home that perfectly suits their talents and love for the craft.
LionhearTV made a list of former Kapamilya stars that made one of their biggest career decision. This 2017, these celebrities joined the rosters of stars in the Kapuso network.
Atom Araullo
After being a Kapamilya for almost 13 years, Atom Araullo returned to Kapuso network. His first documentary in GMA Network, “Philippine Seas” will be out on November. The 35-year old broadcast journalist will also the joined the award-winning documentary film, “I-Witness” as the additional host alongside Kara David, Howie Severino, Sandra Aguinaldo and Jay Taruc.
Matt Evans
Former “Pinoy Big Brother” housemate Matt Evans is now a Kapuso after being a Kapamilya since 2006. He appeared now in several “Eat Bulaga!” episodes and also did an episode of the OFW-themed drama anthology “Tadhana.”
Jason Abalos
As a homegrown talent of Kapamilya network, many were surprised after Jason Abalos transferred to rival network. He is set to star on the upcoming prime time series, “The One That Got Away” alongside Dennis Trillo, Lovi Poe, Rhian Ramos and Max Collins.
Jason Francisco
Another “Jason” is in the house now!
Former PBB housemate Jason Francisco is now a certified Kapuso. After appearing on the pilot episode of the prime time series, “Alyas Robin Hood,” rumors started to spread like fire that the husband of Melai Cantiveros will switch network.
This month, Jason confirmed that he is now a Kapuso and joined the stellar cast of upcoming teleserye “The One That Got Away.”
Eliza Pineda
Maria Flordeluna is now a Kapuso!
Former Kapamilya child star Eliza Pineda signed an exclusive contract with GMA Network last month.
Alyana Assistio
The former Star Magic artist Alyana Asistio is the newest addition to GMA Artist Center. She recently appeared on the Kapamilya prime time series, “La Luna Sangre.”
