Dr. Filiberto Pollisco, Jr. talked about another role of ecotourism in the country during the “EchoTourism v3.0: Ecology, Culture, Heritage and Opportunities” in Miriam College last November 20. He also introduced the different bio-diversities in Southeast Asia.
Pollisco shared that any ecotourism activity includes a community participation. It should benefit the local community and also, its people not just one’s financial self-sufficiency. Although, it may be a factor, activities should contribute to natural resource conservation.
Pollisco also encouraged the audience that if they want to travel, they should first enjoy Southeast Asia’s own natural heritage parks. These are some of the most famous heritage parks in Southeast Asia:
