Dingdong Dantes and Ruru Madrid tied for the Best Drama Actor at the 31st PMPC Star Awards for Television. The Star Awards, held at the Henry Lee Irwin Theater in Ateneo de Manila University last November 12, Sunday will be broadcasted via ABS-CBN on November 19, Sunday.
Dingdong and Ruru went up the stage together. Ruru was very proud that he won the award with his idol and said, “Isang malaking karangalan na makasama ko sa entablado ang isang Dingdong Dantes.”
It can be recalled that netizens reacted negatively when GMA Network announced Ruru will reprise the role Dingdong once played. Instead of wallowing, Ruru focused on the people who motivated him and supported him for the role.
Consequently, when Dingdong found out that Ruru will be playing his former role, Dingdon gave the young actor a piece of advice on how to handle the coveted role.
Dingdong told him, “Maghanda ka nang matulog sa gubat, mahihirapan ka talaga. Pero sobrang sulit naman talaga dahil napakaganda ng role na napunta.” Then, he also added, “Proud na proud ako sa’yo.”
