Christian Bables recently tweeted that he is no longer reprising the role.
The award-winning ‘Die Beautiful‘ gets a spin-off series titled, ‘Born Beautiful.’ Die Beautiful is about the hardships and achievements of transgender beauty queen, Trisha (Paolo Ballesteros). Her loyal BFF, Barbs (Christian Bables), gave Trisha her dying wish in making her look like her favorite divas.
The teaser uploaded on Youtube featuring Christian as ‘Barbs.’ It has been dubbed as the ‘most-awaited series of the year.’ Die Beautiful director, Jun Robles Lana, stated that the sequel will follow Barbs after Trisha’s death. It will be available through satellite TV provider, Cignal and The IdeaFirst Company will produce the said series.
Unfortunately, Christian recently tweeted that he will not be playing ‘Barbs’ anymore. He passed his crown to Martin Del Rosario who thanked Christian’s support.

There was an attached photo where Christian explained why he is not playing ‘Barbs’ anymore.
“Hello everyone! Good day po 🙂 this is to make everything clear regarding BORN BEAUTIFUL. Yes po, hindi na po ako ang gaganap na Barbs for the said spin of.. It was a tough decision, made by my management. Ako as much as i wanted to do the project, as much as i wanted to push harder dahil mahal na mahal na mahal ko si barbs, ang mga taong bumubuo sa proyekto, at ang mga taong sumusuporta at nagmahal kay Barbs, I guess I will have to leave it to the management. I wouldn’t want to further expound. End of story
But i know love wil prevail 🙂 It’s not easy to let go of someone who’s been and will forever be part of your life, your system, and your heart. Nag titiwala nalang ako sa lahat ng taong nakapaligid sakin. I know merong purpose si God sa lahat dahil bubuksan ang puso ng bawat isa, i know wala namang merong my bad intentions. Everything happens for a good reason.
I am happy that Martin Del Rosario will get to play the role of Barbs. I know he’s a good actor. He’s one of the actors na magagaling at tinitingala ko bilang baguhan sa industriya. And I know adding his own flavor to the character will make it a new lovable, relatable, and three dimensional of Barbs. The feeling that i have right now now is synonymous to someone who’s letting go of person he deeply loves.”
Also attached to the tweet was his message to Martin and the creators of the series.
“To martin, dahil hindi pa kami nag kakaroon ng chance makapag usap, i hope you take care of Barbs. Mahal na mahal ko ang baklang yan. She has my heart. And Please love her the way you love yourself. Please love all the people sa world niya, kasi doon siya nabuo. Sa pagmamahal 🙂 Patuloy mong ipag laban ang mga pinag lalaban niya, and most of all ingatan mo siya at ang puso niyang maharot 🙂 Now it’s you and her. Kaya niyo yan! Parehas kayong magaling! Kung kelangan mo ng balakang, dodo, at dress na malandi, meron pa ditong bago nakabili na ako para sana sa born. I guess sayo na to. Thank you in advance, Martin! I will pray for the success of the project!

At sa mga nag mamahal at sumusuporta kay Barbs, maraming salamat sa inyo. Wala ako dito kundi dahil sa suporta at pag mamahal niyo. Maraming maraming salamat! Lagi kayong nakatatak sa puso at isip ni TAONG LEGO 🙂
