- The gay community continues to grow and be strong despite the negativity around them
- LGBTQ+ people in the Philippine show business are now out and proud
We will not get tired of saying and propagating that #LoveWins. It knows no gender and status in life so anyone can love who they want to freely. It is no secret that in Philippine showbiz, there are some members of the LGBTQ+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Queer). Although some of them came out and caused a shock, it’s nice that people accept them for who they are, right?
Let’s talk about lesbians! They are the ones who prefer their fellow women than their opposite gender. There’s only a few of them in the local scene and we will give you a run over of their notable transformation and coming out stories!
Jessie Corcuera
Former “StarStruck” contestant and “Pinoy Big Brother” housemate Jessie Corcuera is among the Filipino celebrities who bravely faced the struggle of becoming a transman.

Jesi imparted a message to everyone through his past interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), “Ang pagiging isang mabuting tao, hindi nakabase sa sexualidad o kung anumang kasarian. Para maging mabuti ka, kailangan ipakita na pantay-pantay. Gusto kong i-spread sa lahat yung equality. Hindi mo kailangang tingnan ang kasarian ng tao kung gusto mo man siyang kilalanin, lahat yan dapat pantay-pantay.”
He added that a transman is described as, “pinanganak na babae pero puso at isip niya, lalaki siya na nag-undergo ng HRT o hormone replacement therapy. Then nag-undergo ng transplant or surgery.”
Just last July, he expressed his support for fellow transman Jake Zyrus through a positive tweet about the controversial name change.
