ANC, the ABS-CBN News Channel, put together a dazzling display of cars and gathered car enthusiasts in one venue to launch its new motoring show “Rev” last night (November 7) at the ANCx event in Circuit Makati.
“Rev” offers viewers a fun joyride into the unique and exciting world of the Philippine automotive industry. Paolo Abrera, one of the country’s top news and lifestyle anchors, is at the driver seat of the program, which provides an honest take on the classic and latest rides, the latest auto news, and gives motorists and automobile enthusiasts real expert guidance from showroom to the road and beyond.
Joining Paolo in the program, which first aired last October 27, are respected names in the auto circuit, such as multi-awarded race car driver JP Tuason who will give tips on enhancing a driver’s skills in his segment “The Right Turn.”
During the launch, JP noted how a lot of driving knowledge in the Philippines is outdated and promised to explain to viewers why they should be driving a certain way. “I want to correct that and help make the Filipino driver a better, safer driver,” he said.
Musician and car lover Manskee Nascimento, meanwhile, will discuss his know-how in the proper care of vehicles in “Keep It Clean.” Manskee said, “It’s one thing purchasing a car, it’s another thing caring for it to protect your investment for the long haul and that’s what I do.”
Car Porn Racing founder Angie King will also provide expert advice on the best modifications that will give the car a Royal look and make it truly one of a kind.
A known motorcycle enthusiast, Paolo expressed his excitement to work with these car experts and guests in the program.
“I like bikes. I love to tinker with bikes. I like to do my own mechanical work on bikes. It’s not a far cry to extend that interest to four wheels and I’m really looking forward to learning more. I’m learning along with the audience.”
Asked what kind of car he would be, the veteran host said that what he actually drives best represents him. “I am very practical, I drive a pick-up and I see myself as a pick-up, a little rough around the edges but comfortable when it needs to be, and capable of doing hard work.”
“Rev” will also feature car groups, celebrities, and industry leaders that will share their passion for cars and driving, and will showcase the best roads to drive in the Philippines.
Attendees of the recent launch got a great glimpse of the show in the ANCx event, which featured an amazing array of supercars and off-road vehicles, which some of the guests even got to drive. Great booze, food, music, and other entertainment were also available to guests.
