Veteran actor Tirso Cruz III, “The Voice Kids Philippines Season 3” and Cathy Yang of ABS-CBN News Channel (ANC) received nominations.
ABS-CBN made another milestone with their three nominations in the 22nd Asian Television Awards 2017.
As the only network in the Philippines that earned nod in the prestigious award-giving body in Asia Pacific region, ABS-CBN will make every Filipinos proud.
Tirso Cruz III is the only Filipino actor nominated as the Best Supporting Actor for his performance as Julio Ardiente in “Wildflower.” He is competing against Chen Mu Yi of The Teenage Psychic (Singapore), Han Chang of Upstream (Taiwan), Choo Houren of Trapped Minds (Singapore), Sani Hussin of Firasat 2 (Singapore), Oabnithi of I Hate You, I Love You (Thailand), and Krissanapoom of I Hate You, I Love You (Thailand).
The two other nominations went to The Voice Kids Philippines Season 3 and to Cathy Yang of ABS-CBN News Channel (ANC).
“The Voice Kids PH” is nominated in the category Best Adaptation of an Existing Format. The show is competing against The Amazing Race Asia Season 5 (Singapore), Sing Your Face Off Thailand Season 2 (Thailand), Rising Star India (India), How Do I Look? Asia Season 2 (Singapore), and Saturday Night Live Korea (South Korea).
On the other hand, Cathy Yang is one of the six nominees competing in the Best News Presenter or Anchor category. The other nominees are Kristie Lu Stout for News Stream (Hong Kong), Najwa Shihab for Mata Najwa Exclusive (Indonesia), Martin Soong for Street Signs (Singapore), Rishaad Salamat of Bloomberg Markets: Asia (Hong Kong), and Sharanjit Leyl of Asia Business Report (Singapore).
