Veteran singer-actress Zsa Zsa Padilla was revealed as the newest character of “Wildflower” as Red Dragon.

Zsa Zsa Padilla is Red Dragon!
The Kapamilya singer-actress Zsa Zsa Padilla was revealed as the newest character on the hit teleserye “Wildflower.” She will portray the mysterious Red Dragon that happens to be the mother or Aiko Melendez. The 53-year old OPM hit-maker revealed reason why she accepted the role.

“Kaibigan ko talaga si Direk Ruel Bayani. Noong dating may in-offer siya sa akin, sobrang bad ng role!” she started.
“Nahihirapan talaga ako pag bad kasi tutungtong pa lang ako ng entablado [pag may concert], parang galit na galit na sa akin yung mga tao! Although, short din naman ang memory nila na, pag tapos na ang soap, bati bati na naman. Pero alam mo ako, bilang isang fan, apektado din ako sa ganyan, ang ingay ko nga manuod, e, so naiintindihan ko rin naman,” she added.
Eventually, Direk Ruel Bayani convinced Zsa Zsa to accept the role as the new kontrabida to lead actress Maja Salvador.
“Pero naisip ko nga, nag-concert ako, i-e-embrace ko na lang, minsan talaga lalabas ako as Red Dragon. Siguro matutuwa yung audience, kung meron mang makakasubaybay na manunuod [ng concerts]. Sabi niya, alam ko, ayaw mo ng ganoon kasi nahihirapan ka pag kumakanta ka. Pero maganda kasi lahat naman doon, even yung character ni Maja, ganun din. So sige, kung talagang sine-celebrate naman noong show yung pagkakontra, sige.
“Ang maganda kasi pag nagkokontrabida, they give you the liberty to change the dialogues, make it better, i-build yung character. It’s really fun to play, hindi yung iyak ka nang iyak,” she shared.
Zsa Zsa also revealed rejecting kontrabida offers due to her trips abroad.
“May mga naging offer sa akin, pang apat na ito na hindi ko matanggap because of my trips. Kasi kakaalis ko lang noong nag-ASAP, after ng ASAP sa Toronto, nag week-and-a-half pa ata ako na nag-East Coast tour ako with my family. Tapos noon, two weeks lang ako sa Manila, umalis uli ako ng three weeks, pumunta ako ng Paris and Italy,” she said.
“So sabi ko ngayon, kung papayag kayo, kasi may trip ako to the States for Diva to Diva 2, two shows lang pero mawawala ako for two weeks. Papayag ba kayo, and they said yes, so naplano nila na we’ll work around it. Natuwa naman ako, sige. And parang napakaswerte ko lang na maging parte ng isang napaka-successful na show.
The veteran actress also has no issue playing the mother of Aiko Melendez’ character. “Wildflower” is known for its fight scenes of Lily, Emilia and Camia but Zsa Zsa said she now have her limitations doing fight scenes due to her scoliosis.
“I will be playing a role who’s probably 10 years older than me. Kung mukha siyang sixty, e, siyempre naman, she can afford plastic surgery, di ba? Nip and tuck here and there. Kasi socialite din siya, e. Pero within the week na she’s exposed, malalaman na ng audience [ang pagkatao niya].
“Pero, siyempre, siguro naman, sa edad niya, hindi naman na siguro siya susugod, kasi kung 60-year-old ka na, hindi ka na ganun katapang. May mga bodyguard ka na para iligpit yang whatever, pero yung exchange of words, nandiyan!” she ended.
