October 12 2017 DUBAI, MIDDLE EAST — With less than a month to go before what promises to be the next must-watch music festival in the Middle East — “One Music X”, The Filipino Channel (TFC), ABS-CBN Star Music, Myx, MOR For Life and One Music PH announce the stellar ensemble composed of the Philippines’ most iconic artists and Dubai’s world-class local acts, set to conquer the Dubai Media City Amphitheater on November 3.
Starting off the exciting line-up of multi-faceted performers is the Philippines’ Pop-Rock Royalty Yeng Constantino. From reality singing competitions to the theatrical stage, Constantino is set to share her signature compositions and performances, some of which have become the Philippines’ biggest hits, for a full day of celebration of the Filipino culture, spirit and communing with what the rest of the world has to offer.
“Constantino first gained attention as the first ever Grand Star Dreamer of the reality singing competition “Pinoy Dream Academy”. Quite reserved compared to her fellow contestants then, Constantino eventually came out of her shell and gained the attention of the mentors led by music icon maestro Ryan Cayabyab”.
Since then, Constantino’s achievements have been pouring one after the other. Her debut album “Salamat” earned her not just Gold but triple Platinum status — a feat for a newbie then in the music industry.
What ensued was one chart-topping album after the other: “Journey”, “Lapit” and “Metamorphosis”. By far, her best-known single remains to be “Hawak-Kamay”, a song she composed at a tender age of 14 for a cousin she was very close to but left their hometown of Rizal in Luzon in the Philippines out of necessity.
Since then, she has started collaborating with other artists starting with “Chinito” — by far one of her most popular music video featuring ABS-CBN heartthrob Enchong Dee.
From music to television, Constantino continues to build her long list of credentials. She has hosted the programs “Music Uplate Live” along with other OPM artists; “The Voice Kids” and “Pinoy Band Superstar” alongside international sensation K-Pop superstar Sandara Park, timeless Kapamilya Heartthrob Aga Muhlach and the Philippines’ Phenomenal Star Vice Ganda.
In 2016, her life was captured in the musical “Josephine”, her real name — proof that while she has been in the industry for a decade, quite less than more veteran artists, she is part of a very few who have managed to get their lives dramatized on stage.
Beyond being seen worldwide via TFC events, including “ASAP in Dubai” Constantino started breaking into the international recording scene via a collaboration with Singaporean rapper, actor and radio personality Sheikh Haikel for “Better Than Yesterday,” a pop song produced by Shorya Sharma.
Because of her countless exposures, her hits have been covered by various nationalities most notable of whom is American singer – songwriter David DiMuzio who performed an acoustic version of “Hawak Kamay” on youtube.
On November 3, Constantino will come full circle as she returns to the Middle East to perform for her fellowmen and share the talent that is Yeng Constantino.
Constantino immediately said yes to the “One Music X” project as soon as she heard of the concept. She says: “Iyong konsepto na may pagsasama-samahin na mga ganitong klaseng artist — that alone, parang nag-spark na agad ng joy sa puso ng mga tao lalo na ng mga kababayan natin sa Middle East. I think it will be a success (The thought of bringing together these remarkable artists alone sparked joy in the hearts of Filipinos, especially our fellowmen in the Middle East. I think this will be a success”.
The Pop Rock Superstar adds: “It’s going to be something na magiging platform talaga para mas makita pa yung mga talent ng mga Pilipino(It’s going to be a platform for other nations to see the Filipino talent)”.
Catch Constantino alongside Soul Supreme KZ; Teen Singing Sensation Inigo Pascual; Pop-rock Band Silent Sanctuary; and Rock Icon of His Generation Rico Blanco plus EDM sensation DJ Moophs and EDM artist Xela together with Pop R & B performer Josh McCartney and reggae performer Emmanuel Marie as pop meets rock and as the Philippines’ pride meet Dubai’s finest for one music fusion in “One Music X”.
Hosting the “One Music X” are Myx’s premier VJ and award-winning host Robi Domingo and homegrown favorite VJ Ai of Myx; and Ang Nagiisang Diyosa sa Balat ng Radyo MOR For Life’s DJ Chacha.
