Kapuso Phenomenal star Maine Mendoza urged everyone to respect and understand people who are suffering from depression.

The 22-year old “Eat Bulaga!” host take her stand not to take depression as a laughing matter.
On Thursday (October 5) afternoon, Phenomenal star Maine Mendoza received positive remarks on social media when she contradicted the “Eat Bulaga” main host Joey de Leon on his stand on depression. In the segment “Juan for all, all for Juan,” hosts Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola, Alden Richards, and Maine Mendoza visited the house of a chosen contestant, who revealed she has depression.
The 22-year old actress-host urged everyone to respect and understand the situation of people who suffered from depression.
“Hindi biro yun ha, yung depression,” Maine stated after veteran comedian and TV host Joey de Leon said, “‘Yung depression gawa-gawa lang ng mga tao yan. Gawa nila sa sarili nila.”
“Kaya dapat kapag merong nakakaranas ng ganun bigyan natin ng suporta,” Maine further explained.
However, despite Maine’s stand to understand and respect those who suffered from depression, Joey maintained his side. “Huwag ninyong suportahan. Gawa-gawa lang nila yun pabayaan niyo,” he said.
“Nagpapasosyal lang. Pag mayaman depressed, pag mahirap wala wala ka ng pag-asa sa buhay. Ganun ‘yun e,” he added.
Joey was criticized online, however, Maine received positive remarks about her words and gestures.
