Merci Buco! Drink You Very Much!

BonJUICE, coconut lovers!

Introducing Locally’s newest drink called Locally Merci Buco! The French will think you are thanking them when you really just want to order a box of this delicious, organic coconut juice. Yes, they’re big on word puns here at Locally. In fact, they put the fun in word fun (see what we did there?).

Merci Buco comes from the topical islands of the Philippines where coconut water is a staple drink. You can drink coco juice in a plastic with a straw, in restaurants, at the beach or order them from vendors that aptly name their pushcarts filled with coconuts StarBuco. True story! It’s safe to say that Filipinos are indeed loco over coco.

Now when you live in a country that goes from humid to extra hot AND humid, who wouldn’t want to slowly sip that ice cold coco water straight from the coconut shell accompanied by a tiny cocktail umbrella (and along a beautiful beach shore as well). What a thirst quencher!

So it wasn’t long before there was a tipping point and the coco water craze broke out not only in the Philippines but also in other parts of the world. Think World War Z but the zombies are health buffs and they are raiding the stores for their coconut water fix. This has been happening in the last 5 years and in different countries that it might as well be called a coco epidemic. So it’s also safe to say that the world went loco over coco that the Philippines – the biggest producer of the most delicious coconuts in the world – exported a total of more than 49 million litres of coconut water in 2015. It was 80% more than its export figures from 2014! Now, that’s nuts! Wait, that’s COCONUTS!

Naturally, and with the popularity of choosing healthier drink alternatives, Locally recognized the need to join the craze. And when you have that unbelievable, pregnant woman-like craving/thirst for some fresh coconut water and have no time to climb a tree and risk a limb by hacking the shell with a machete, there is now Locally Merci Buco! Locally has made it easy for all of you coco locos by containing the freshness of natural coconut water in a Tetra Pack. So you can have your coco water easily accessible no matter what!

This is also the first eco-certified organic coconut water in the Philippines! So don’t panic, it’s organic! Locally Merci Buco is made from pure and organic coconut water sourced and organically grown from local farms in Bicol and Quezon, assuring consumers not only of 100% freshness from the best-tasting natural coco water but also of its numerous health benefits: low calorie content of 40 calories per serving, no sugar added (for plain coco water), no fat and cholesterol, gluten-free, not from concentrate, and non-GMO. What’s more, Locally Merci Buco has the natural properties of coco water such as antioxidants, amino acids, enzymes, B-complex vitamins, vitamin C, and minerals such as calcium, iron, magnesium, manganese and zinc.

Locally Merci Buco is also the perfect post-workout drink for fitness enthusiasts, because it is loaded with electrolytes that boost one’s energy level. It is also a healthier alternative to sweetened and carbonated sports and energy drinks due to its rich potassium content.

Locally Merci Buco is certified by both the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) and EcoCert, assuring consumers of the 100% organic drink’s quality and integrity, with ingredients grown without the use of pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, sewage sludge, GMO, or ionizing radiation.

To make Locally Merci Buco more fun to drink, it is also offered in two other refreshing Pinoy favorite variants—buco lychee and buco pandan.

Now, you can either climb up the nearest coconut tree or just go to Rustan’s and select Puregold and Robinsons supermarkets nationwide and hoard your Merci Buco drinks. Merci Buco is also available in some stores in US and the Middle East. Not available France just yet.

Locally is the first quirky Filipino juice line that uses home-grown fruits. The brand mirrors the unique and fun characteristics of Filipinos with its catchy word puns, namely: Mangosteenie Miney Mo, Tamarind My Bell, Dalandan It Again, Guyabano-body but You, Calamansi’z the Day, Pomelong & Lasting Love and Save the Best for Sineguelast.
