Fernando ‘Jojo’ Viray, the father of Kapamilya singer Jona Viray died on Sunday, October 22.
On her Instagram account, Jona wrote: “Rest in peace Daddy… You are now with our Creator… We love you so much… We will miss you… Please talk to me in my dreams and embrace me tightly as I sleep… Love you so much Daddy…”
Through her Instagram account on October 14, Jona asked netizens to pray for her dad who suffered stroke and was admitted at an intensive care unit. She posted, “Hello everyone, I am asking for your prayer support for my father… More than a month na po kasi siya nakaadmit sa hospital dahil sa medication para sa fungal infection sa ulo niya at ngayon lang po na ICU siya due to stroke… Since kahapon tulog na lang siya ng tulog, hirap na magsalita, sumagot sa mga tanong at mga command. Pero ngayon hindi po talaga siya nagrerepond… Pls pray for my father’s quick recovery and for our family.. Maraming salamat po.”
On October 17, Jona’s father was scheduled for a surgery to drain the fluid on his brain. “Daddy’s third day in ICU.. Hanggang ngayon hindi pa rin po siya responsive… Iniisip ko lang po na natutulog lang siya…. Please continue to pray for his fast recovery.. He is scheduled tonight for surgery to drain the fluid on his brain… Salamat po sa mga nagparamdam ng love and support for our family… God bless po.”
