Ivan Maytina says mainstream journalists are not source of fake news.
GMA Network newscaster Ivan Mayrina fires back on mainstream journalist bashers saying they only have their credibility as their capital.
After defending fellow Kapuso Jan Sisante from bashers, GMA Network journalist Ivan Mayrina has started to be more vocal in social media.
In a recent Facebook post, Mayrina defended mainstream journalist from being tagged as purveyor of fake news. This after PCOO Asec Mocha Uson labeled GMA News report on her trip to Marawi as “fake news”.
According to Mayrina, coming up with a news report is no joke as it entails sweat and blood to create a 2-minute video report.
Minsan nga dadaan pa sa abogado bago ma-clear for airing.” he said.
He added that credibility is their main weapon because they will always be accountable for any mistake on their reports.
He also pointed out that just because a news report doesn’t satisfy one’s belief it is already fake news.
In the end, Mayrina left strong words saying “I am a mainstream journalist. And I take exception to the statement that we are purveyors of fake news.
Here’s his complete Facebook post regarding fake news.
That much, we owe our audience.
I am a mainstream journalist. And I take exception to the statement that we are purveyors of fake news.
