Isko Moreno quits Northrail chairmanship effective immediately.
Actor-politician and former Manila Vice Mayor Isko Moreno or Francisco Domagoso in real life resigned from his position at the North Luzon Railways Corporation.
Moreno submitted his irrevocable resignation to President Duterte on Friday, October 27.
In his resignation letter, Moreno cited personal reason in quitting from his position in the Duterte administration.
On July 12, 2017, Moreno was appointed Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the North Luzon Railways Corporation. His term was supposed to end on July 30, 2018. No less than the president nominated Moreno according to him which was approved by the Bases Conversion and Development Authority board of directors.
Northrail is an attached agency of the Department of Transportation and a subsidiary of the Bases Conversion and Development Authority.
Before his appointment, Moreno ran and lost in his Senatorial bid last 2016 election.
Isko was Vice Mayor of Manila for 9 years, from June 30, 2007 – June 30, 2016. He was supposed to run for Manila Mayor in 2016 but gave way to Manila Mayor Erap Estrada on his re-election.
Is Isko already preparing to run for Manila Mayor this coming 2019, or are there other reasons for his resignation?
