After the success of the phenomenal “KalyeSerye”, “Eat Bulaga!” came out with another experimental drama, AlDub’s first ever afternoon telemovie.
Titled “Love Is”, the AlDub telemovie directed by Adolf Alix aired on “Eat Bulaga’s” Saturday timeslot last October 21.
Banking on their huge following, “Love Is” scored winning numbers on AGB Nielsen’s NUTAM People survey. The telemovie posted a rating of 7.6% to be the most watched daytime program on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Kapamilya noontime show’s “It’s Showtime’s” conclusion of its Magpasikat week was not enough to spoil AlDub telemovie as it scored 7.2% only landing in the number 4 slot of Saturday’s rankings.
But while AlDub wins the NUTAM territory, they failed to impress the National audience at is suffered defeat to “It’s Showtime” on Kantar Media results.
“Love Is” posted a national TV ratings of only 12.9%, 8.7% below rival “It’s Showtime’s” 21.6%.
The AlDub telemovie was even beaten by fellow Kapuso and succeeding Saturday program Ika-6 Na Utos which scored 14.3%.
AlDub’s “Love Is” featured the story of Vivienne (played by Maine Mendoza) and Marcos (played by Alden Richard) in the controversial topic of depression.
Just recently, “Eat Bulaga’s” host Joey De Leon figured in a controversy over his distasteful joke about depression. Joey’s controversial remark meanwhile, turned out to be one of Maine’s shining moments because of her sensible insight about depression.
After the backlash from social media, Joey, later on, apologized publicly for his blunder.
