ABS-CBN, the country’s leading media and entertainment company, bagged a total of 15 awards for its entertainment and news programs and personalities at the UmalohokJUAN awards and 5th Kagitingan Awards for Television.
The Kapamilya network’s news arm took home five awards at Lyceum of the Philippines’ UmalohokJUAN Awards, which recognizes the achievements of media companies, corporate, and non-government organizations, including the News and Current Affairs for TV Program of the Year (“TV Patrol”), Public Service for TV of the Year (“Failon Ngayon”), Best Male AM Radio Personality (Noli de Castro), Best Female AM Radio Personality (Karen Davila), and TV News Anchor of the Year (Atom Araullo).
Completing the Kapamilya winners at the UmalohokJUAN were Coco Martin (Television Actor of the Year), Liza Soberano (Television Actress of the Year), Anne Curtis (Female TV Host of the Year), and Dan Villegas (TV Director of the Year).
Meanwhile, ABS-CBN programs were also honored at the 5th Kagitingan Awards, which honors the contribution of television programs and personalities in promoting good values to young viewers. The country’s most watched primetime program, “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano,” was named Pinakamagiting na Drama Series; the “Maalala Mo Kaya” episode on Courageous Catie was hailed as Pinakamagiting na Drama Anthology; and the public affairs show “The Bottomline with Boy Abunda” won Pinakamagiting na Talk Show.
Kapamilya personalities were also recognized at the Kagitingan Awards including Coco Martin (Pinakamagiting na Personalidad ng Drama Series), Shaina Magdayao (Pinakamagiting na Personalidad ng Drama Anthology), and Boy Abunda (Pinakamagiting na Personalidad ng Talk Show).
The awards from these reputable organizations once again affirm the trust of the Filipino people on ABS-CBN as their source of news and entertainment.
