The other half of AlDub, Maine Mendoza has finally activated her account on Twitter.
The very first post she made was to express her gratitude to the AlDubNation for their unwavering support and love for their love team.
Her latest post fully says, “Thank you very much, AldubNation! Salamat sa suporta at pagmamahal na walang sawa niyong binibigay! #ADNFestival2017″
The AlDub Nation, through its #ADNFestival2017 has proven last night that the fandom still has a strong force in a gathering held at SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.
Last June, Maine Mendoza deactivated her Twitter account, leading people to speculate about the reason. While she has been active on other social media channels such as Instagram, the “Eat Bulaga” mainstay opened up about why she left Twitter for the meantime.
Her last tweets before the break was: “When peace & love are no longer being served; and whenever u find yourself taking in so much negativity, you have to take a break & reflect.”
“Sometimes we need to disconnect to reconnect. Taking a break is necessary to save yourself and others from drowning.”
“I hope we all stop pulling each other down. 😌”
In a presscon last July, Maine clarified her sudden deactivation on Twitter. She said, “Decided to take a break from Twitter too because Twitterworld’s been really toxic lately. How’s it now, by the way? Do you still remember when everything used to be fun there? When Twitter used to be a harmonious environment for everyone? Haha I know, me neither,” she wrote in a recent blog entry on MaineMendoza.com after returning from her Maldives getaway.
“Anyway, I just cannot stand people’s negativity there lately. I mean, I have enough negativity in my system already to still add and endure those,” she added.
Responding to a comment, Maine further explained: “For the record, it was never about the ‘baddies’. Bashers are there 24/7 since the very beginning and I honestly do not mind about them. It’s just lately, some of the fans are the ones to start and engage in conflict; until things start getting blown out of proportion. It’s gotten to the point where fans are quarrelling with fans too, and not with bashers anymore. Like I have said, Twitter used to be a harmonious environment to all of us, remember the bayanihan days? Kalyeserye days? Pre-tamang panahon? Tamang panahon? I know things have changed but I hope we get to perpetuate the harmony among each of us.”
