Alex revealed that her sister, Toni Gonzaga, even asked her to quit showbiz due to that incident
29-year-old TV host and comedian Alex Gonzaga said that she had learned her lesson from the PMPC (Philippine Movie Press Club) awards issue with showbiz friend Luis Manzano.
It can be remembered that her fellow host was given a recognition and she teased him of “buying” the award.
Alex owned up to her mistake, saying that she was just being her natural self and forgot that she’s in a prestigious event. To her defense, she said that Luis and her really use sarcasm as their way of affection towards each other.
“Nag-move on na ako kasi I really meant no harm. Kami ni Kuya Luis Manzano ‘pag nagkikita talaga kami parang yung pinakamasasamang maiisip mo, yun ang parang affections namin sa isa’t isa. Siguro nung nakita ko siya nawala lang ako sa lugar at nakalimutan ko it was an award show,” she shared.
The “Dear Alex, Break Na Kami, Paano?” author added that she quickly apologized to the PMPC and stressed that she meant no judgments.
“I apologized right away sa ating mga press people. I really love PMPC (Philippine Movie Press Club) kasi ilang beses nadin naman na akong nakapag-host. Nanalo na din naman ako ng award and even my sister [Toni Gonzaga] syempre na-offend sila doon sa nasabi ko.”
Because of this incident, Alex revealed that she got scolded by her sister, popular multimedia star Toni Gonzaga, who even suggested that she leave the show business.
“Ang ate ko may point siya na mag-quit na daw ako sa showbiz. Ganun level. Kasi bakit daw ganun yung mga ano ko (sinasabi ko). Pero sa akin naman, I’ll just charge it to experience na minsan be careful. Pero nangyari na talaga,” she said.
On the other hand, Alex can’t help but feel excited for her upcoming project “I Can See Your Voice” under ABS-CBN.
