Teejay’s fans are now being compared to Indonesia superstar and fellow Filipino artist Christian Bautista
23-year-old Teejay Marquez can be considered as phenomenal star in Indonesia after he got discovered through his online viral videos such as the “Twerk It Like Miley,” two years ago.
Teejay instantly took the Asian country by storm. He invaded the Indonesian show business with his talent and charm. Aside from TV appearances, Teejay already shoot for a teleserye there.
On a previous talk with PEP.ph, (Philippine Entertainment Portal), the young performer still is overwhelmed with his current fame.
“Pero hindi pa talaga nag-sink in na talagang sikat na sikat ako.
“Sinabi ko noong una akong nagpunta ng Indonesia na stepping stone ko lang ito.”
Teejay remains humble despite the overflowing blessings he’s receiving. He disclosed with the Philippine Journal that he recently signed under Regal Entertainment with Mother Lily Monteverde.
“It’s a dream come true for me to be a Regal Baby,” says Teejay. “I’m thankful to Mother Lily kasi very warm ang reception nila sa’kin.”
His fans are comparing his career path to that of renowned singer Christian Bautista who also had his shining moment in Indonesia before.
Who’s more popular though?
Teejay humbly replied, “Siya. Maski taxi drivers, tinatanong ako, how’s Christian? Pinatutugtog talaga ang songs niya roon.”
Some of Teejay’s past and notable appearances in Filipino TV were in GMA Network’s “Tween Hearts,” ABS-CBN’s “Dream Dad” and “The Greatest Love.”
