John Lloyd got embroiled in controversy due to his unbecoming actions shown online
The 70-year-old respectable showbiz personality Johnny Manahan came to Kapamilya actor John Lloyd Cruz’s rescue after netizens attacked him because of the videos that surfaced online showing his drunk misdeamenor.
Mr. M has been the actor’s father figure in the industry. Despite being close to John Lloyd, the Star Magic head maintained his neutral ground regarding the issue. He said that some of the social media users grew abusive of their freedom to react but stressed that the actor should be cautious next time.
“JLC works hard as an actor… 18 hr. days at a stretch. He was just letting off some steam. In this age of an all pervasive social media, what is ok and innocent in private becomes worthlessly controversial in public.
“He will have learned his lesson and be more careful in the future,” his statement read.
The issue John Lloyd is now going through was prior to his “sweet” photos with sexy actress Ellen Adarna during their trip in Cebu City. This lead netizens to speculate whether or not the two are in a romantic relationship.
On a previous interview with ABS-CBN, John Lloyd apologized to his fans and to young viewers for the way he behaved in the videos.
