Richard Yap condemned violence inside brotherhoods.
Kapamilya actor, Richard Yap got emotional over the death of UST hazing victim. On the latest report of TV Patrol, Richard empathized with the parents of Horacio Castillo III, a freshman law student. He was found dead at the street of Balut, Tondo.
Richard shared his grief with ABS-CBN News, saying that he personally knew Horacio Castillo III through his daughter.
“For a parent, grabe iyong sakit,” he said.
“Nararamdaman mo sa tatay niya kung gaano kasakit na iyong anak mo na inalagaan mo ay papatayin lang just like that, for no reason at all,” he added.
The family of the victim believed that Horacio died during hazing rites as part of fraternity initiation. Horacio joined Aegis Juris fraternity.
Richard condemned the violence inside fraternities as part of their initiation rites. He also warned those who are responsible for Horacio’s death.
“I think they should all come forward and tell the family what happened. I don’t think you can live with whatever you’ve done. It would be very cowardly for you to do that,” he said.
“Hurting people in the name of brotherhood is not brotherhood. It’s just violence so own up to what you did,” he added.
