Actress turned scriptwriter Bela Padilla is proud of her masterpiece that is Star Cinema’s “Last Night,” a film she wrote that will star multimedia star Toni Gonzaga and Kapamilya heartthrob Piolo Pascual.
She conceptualized the story with her ex-boyfriend, businessman and film producer Neil Arce.
Despite not being together anymore, Bella and Neil remained civil when it comes to work. The 26-year-old actress shared that she doesn’t want her personal life to hinder her from pursuing her passion for screenplay.
She added that Neil is very professional on the set and that she encountered no problems with him.
“I guess ‘yun I am very fortunate because he is also a very mature person and I guess you have to prioritize kasi what’s important in your life. And you already lose something, why lose more? This is a work opportunity we can both go from so ‘yun I guess we decided to choose to work together para mag-work ‘to kasi sayang ‘yung concept eh,” she stated.
Knowing that this film was their brainchild, did Bela based it on their own love story?
“Not for this movie. It’s very far. This is so far from everything I’ve heard eh parang I’m so excited for you guys, like direk Joyce (Bernal) said, to experience it kasi this is everything. You’re not just gonna watch it. The soundtrack is amazing, the visuals are amazing tapos may feels pa so parang it’s a totally different experience nga from everything,” she answered.
“Last Night” will mark as Bela’s first official writing project and she’s looking forward to do more.
She even discussed how she created the plot, “Actually nasa [Ang] Probinsyano ako nang sinusulat ko ‘to. Nasa tent ako nagsusulat pag- tengga. ‘Pag gusto mo gagawin mo eh. Kahit ano naman di lang sa pagsusulat. Kung may gusto kang gawin magagawa at magagawa mo.”
The Toni-Piolo comeback on the big screen will premiere this September 27 in cinemas nationwide.
