Aiko defended their show and dismissed allegations of topping off GMA Network’s “Wowowin”
Kapamilya actress Aiko Melendez feels nothing but gratitude for the avid supporters of their afternoon drama series “Wildflower.” She’s humbled playing part on the intense journey of Ivy Aguas (Maja Salvador).
The 41-year-old actress plays the kontrabida role Emilia Ardiente-Torillo, the mother of Arnaldo (RK Bagatsing). She’s one of Ivy’s most-sought for in heated encounters.
The success of “Wildflower” reportedly brought another TV program down. Rival network’s game show “Wowowin” officially went downhill in terms of ratings.
Aiko downplayed this news and quickly stressed that they’re just doing their job. The management has no intentions of beating a show in order to go up, it’s all according to the viewers’ choice.
“Actually, siguro, it’s… ang safer way to say is in our timeslot, we are the highest, kami ang naghohold ng pinakamataas ng ratings, so we are blessed.
“Kami naman, hindi kami nandito para magpabagsak ng kung ano mang show, lahat sinusuportahan and it’s a choice of the viewers kung sinong show ang papanuorin.”
Moreover, Aiko said that their teleserye has even more to offer in the upcoming episodes. She advised the audience to stay tuned of the characters’ stories and the much-anticipated plot twists.
“It just so happened na ang Wildflower, it’s a soap na hindi mo alam kung ano mangyayari sa susunod. Unpredictable yung twist namin so you’ll keep watching it.”
