- “It’s Showtime” host Vice Ganda apologized for offending veteran journalist Tony Calvento but he’s not sure that his humor might not hurt people again next time
- The comedian recently opened his gastro pub in Greenhills this week with fellow Kapamilya Daniel Padilla and athlete James Yap
The ‘Unkobagable Star’ Vice Ganda unlocked another milestone in his fruitful career. He recently opened District 8 gastro pub, a business venture he shared with ‘La Luna Sangre’ star Daniel Padilla and basketball player James Yap.
Vice arrived fresh from his Korea trip and there he shared his memorable moments of his vacation.
“Sobrang saya ng Korean trip. Nabitin lang kasi kailangan ko na umuwi para sa opening ng District8 pero sobra kong na-enjoy. I had so much fun kasama yung nanay ko, yung mga kapatid ko. Sulit pero kailangan ko lang umuwi. Madami kasi tayo obligasyon dito sa Pilipinas,” he narrated.
While he’s away, Vice remained the hot topic in social media due to his offensive joke about veteran journalist Tony Calvento. In an episode of ‘It’s Showtime’ Tawag ng Tanghalan segment, the host tried to console a chubby contestant and gave an advice.
This called for the attention of Tony and he vocally showed his disappointment. He even threatened Vice and the ABS-CBN noontime show that he will file a case against them.
It was later on settled when Vice agreed to give a public apology.
“Alam mo ever since I’m always saying this na I’m not a perfect person, I’m not a perfect entertainer. Every now and then magkakamali ako sa mga ginagawa ko kasi tao lang ako. Pero hindi din ako magsasawa na humingi ng paumanhin sa lahat ng pagkakamali na magagawa ko,” he said.
However, he also told guests at District 8 that despite resolving this issue with Tony, he admits that he can’t control his self in the future and his humor might victim another person unconciously.
“I cannot say na last na iyan, hindi na ako magkakamali. Kasi araw-araw may magagawa tayong pagkakamali sinasadya man o hindi,” Vice added.
Still, the comedian extended his apologies and reiterated that he did not mean to offend anyone. All he wanted to do was entertain people, Vice said.
