Xymon Ezekiel Pineda, famously known as Onyok has been the talk of the town since he left ABS-CBN’s top rating primetime series “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.”
Rumors spread that the best thing the management could do to avoid conflicts with the mother of the rising child star, Mary Ann Nulos, is to dismiss him from the kapamilya show.
Although lead star Coco Martin explained in one of his interviews that Onyok and his family have decided to prioritize his schooling, netizens didn’t stop accusing the mother that she is the cause why the famous child star is no longer with the show.
During Onyok’s renewal of endorsement contract last August 9 at Concha’s Garden Cafe, Quezon City, Mary Ann got the chance to defend herself to accusations thrown at her.
She explained in her interview with Pep.PH that the main reason of Onyok’s exit is to be able to get some rest since the wonder kid will start to attend school.
Nulos also admitted that her son was being home schooled during his stint with Ang Probinsyano. However, the mother decided to bring Onyok back to normal classes so it would be easier for him to focus all his attention to his studies.
This was further strengthened by Onyok’s substitute Awra Briguela. “Totoo naman po talagang gusto mag-aral ni Onyok, hindi po sa mother niya. Napakatalinong bata niya, sa dressing room may mga dala siyang libro.”
Mary Ann further elaborated that it is normal for her (mother) to ask what time will the shoot end but she never said it in a rude way.
She also admitted that Ang Probinsyano was really a big help to their family. In fact, they were able to fully pay their house and bought their own car.
The mother further said that they were very grateful to the series and made sure that Onyok had a graceful exit and bid farewell to the management.
Nulos noted that the show may be a big loss to them, but as a mother, she needs to consider her son’s future
The mother also appealed to netizens who judged them stressing that they don’t know her personally. “Basta para sa akin, ang inisip ko lang ay para sa best ng anak ko.”
For Onyok’s fans there is nothing to worry about because Onyok will still be part of Coco Martin’s Metro Manila Film Festival entry, Ang Panday this coming December.
