Ogie Diaz recalled the time when Raquel personally attacked him and discouraged him
47-year-old actor and celebrity manager Ogie Diaz posted a moment he had in the past with Jake Zyrus’ controversial mother Raquel Pempengco. In a Facebook status, Ogie recalled his first-hand encounter with Raquel’s attitude.
Last Sunday’s “Maalaala Mo Kaya” episode featured the life story of international artist Jake Zyrus who recently transitioned from a lesbian to a transgender man. It showed how his mother was cruel to him while growing up. Even as he blossomed with a great career in singing, Raquel remained abusive of his son’s earnings.
With the MMK story being a trending topic nationwide, Ogie took the opportunity to voice out his sentiments. In a length Facebook post, he narrated his personal experience with Raquel.
“Bigla ko tuloy naalala yung Mommy ni Charice kung paano nitong pinagalit pa ang mga fans noon ng anak niya para i-bash ako nang i-bash sa twitter na muntik ko pang desisyunang i-deactivate ang account ko, dahil sobra na ang mga panlalait sa akin ng ilang fans.”
Ogie even revealed that Raquel once used her son’s fans to bring his career down. He also said he can relate to Jake, as he knows the feeling of being ridiculed because of gender.
“Di nila matanggap yung opinyon ko noon sa radyo at sa diyaryong pinagsusulatan ko. Sabi ko noon, feeling ko, tomboy si Charice na kung tutuusin, wala namang masama,” he said.
At the end of his post, Ogie admitted that this “experience” with Raquel was a lie. He just tricked his followers to read his post and found it funny that they even entertained it.
“Tapos, ang masaklap pa, sineseryoso naman ng mga tao ang claim kong ito. At talagang tinapos ang pagbabasa hanggang ending. Charot lang. Kayo naman.”
