- Former contestant of “Pinoy Boyband Superstar” Miggy Campbell narrated his family’s struggle when his father abused illegal drugs
- He also shared his own experience with drugs and the sufferings he overcame in his journey to become who he is right now.
Remember Miggy Campbell from “Pinoy Boyband Superstar’? His career has now steered from performing to acting as he stars lead in upcoming independent film “Adik.”
During the press conference of the movie, Miggy shared the struggles he overcame before he got to where he is at the moment.
According to the 25-year-old newbie actor, his family went through a lot of trials when his father became addicted with illegal drugs which happened after its separation from Miggy’s mother.
Because of this, Miggy learned at the early age of 17, how to stand on his own because he can’t rely on his troubled dad.
“Kasi wala naman ho sa aking… wala akong father role, mother role, lola ko talaga ang nagpalaki sa akin.
“Nung mag-college ako, umalis na ako sa amin, nakipagsapalaran na ako, yung seventeen pa lang ako, nag-start na ako dito.”
Miggy grew up with his grandmother and aunt who both helped raise him and provided his needs.
He also shared that the reason why he didn’t stay with his dad was because he was physically abused.
Miggy became emotional when he said, “Binubugbog po tsaka sinasaktan niya po ako.”
Thankfully, Miggy’s father is now recovering at a rehab.
“Actually po, nagtino na siya, kaso siyempre yung effect nung drugs sa kanya, andun pa, pero sobrang ano, tumigil na siya.”
Miggy once got curious and was urged to try drugs as well. Due to rising financial problems and family issues, he said he resorted to it as a reliever from his situation.
“Pero panandalian lang po iyon.
“Siguro mga ano lang yun, yaya-yaya, mga twice lang po.”
