Philippine Star’s veteran entertainment editor Ricky Lo wrote a column questioning Bimby’s absence in his half-brother’s birthday party recently entitled “Bimbi ‘no-show’ at MJ’s party”.
MJ is the son of Bimby’s father James Yap to his Italian girlfriend Michaela Cazzola. The queen of all media then expressed dismay on this article with no factual basis.
Lo had a follow-up article stating that Michaela had mouthful words towards him because she’s mad about the article.
The columnist further strengthened this by posting a text message from MJ’s mother telling him that she doesn’t want to create issues.
“I told the coordinator to cross out Bimby’s name from the list because Kris and I have already agreed beforehand that the kids would be meeting in private,” said Michaela in a text message.
Because of these speculations, Kris said “can you fault any mother or father whether celebrity or non-celeb for being proud of their children and wanting to share their love and pride with their circle, in our case it’s a much bigger circle?”
She pointed out that she had sleepless nights thinking about her two sons being bashed on social media by a lot of people.
“Kuya Josh is a special child and God shielded him from being cognizant of some of the cruelty thrown out way but Bimby is intelligent, innately curious and even more articulate than his mother. And 10-14 years old are crucial years in his intellectual, emotional and psychological development,” she explained.
Kris reiterated that she’s willing to fight for his sons especially when they are receiving harsh and negative comments online.
Kris also extended her sincerest gratitude to Miguel Belmonte for keeping the communication open between them. Belmonte’s are the owners of one of the leading broadsheets in the country, The Philippine Star.
She then called on Lo to conclude this saying “Tito Ricky, binilin ako ni auntie Betty Go Belmonte sayo, sana bumalik ang respeto at tiwala.”
