There are a lot of life threatening scenes in ABS-CBN’s top rating show on Primetime, “La Luna Sangre.” Lead stars Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla popularly known as KathNiel are both fighting with vampires in the series that requires a number of physically challenging stunts.
In the recent digital press conference of the teleserye, action director Lester Pimentel admitted that both Kathryn and Daniel have stunt doubles on standby. He said KathNiel prefers to do their own stunts that they rarely use a double.
“Ang specific instruction that we got from the producers is ang importante ‘yung action ay nakatahi sa emosyon, nakatahi sa istorya. Hindi siya puwedeng action for the sake of action,” Direk Lester said when asked how actions were executed.
Direk Lester also shared that one time they prefer that Kathryn’s double to substitute since the scene requires Kath to jump out of the car. The double taught Kathrine how to carry out the stunt which Kathryn was able to do on her own.
“We use double sometimes to guide her, kung paano gagawin. So, gagawin muna ng double ‘yung stunts. Pero siya (Kathryn) ‘yung lahat,” Direk Lester explained.
The international stunt director Wang Yan Bin was also one of La Luna Sangre’s action directors present in the digital presscon.
