During the press conference of the highly anticipated teen-oriented film “Fangirl Fanboy”, Julian Trono and Ella Cruz popularly known as Julianella spoke about their relationship.
The young stars revealed being friends for almost seven years now. The have worked together when they were still kids on GMA’s Tropang Pochi.
The 19-year-old actor shared that their relationship is more than just work. In fact, both of them are haters of ‘promo’ love teams.
“Kaming dalawa ayaw naming niloloko namin yung mga tao so as much as possible we keep the friendship and ineenjoy din po namin yung process,” he said
“Right now, kung ano yung nakikita niyo yun lang po yun. We’re not exclusively dating because rather than any relationship, mas masarap po kasing ikeep yung friedship muna and kung dun man po kami papunta hindi naman po namin mapipigilan,” Julian added.
For her part, Ella explained that it would be possibly easy to elevate their friendship to the next level but because of too much projects, they have to prioritize their career.
When asked if Julian fits her standards, Ella said, “he’s very sincere, isa siya sa pinakasincere na taong nakilala ko and that’s very rare.”
According to Julian, on a scale of 1-10, he would consider their friendship as six or seven. “Isa siya sa closest ko, I mean yung matatakbuhan mo talaga.”
“Normal naman po yan kung gusto mo gisingin ng maayos yung importanteng tao sayo,” Julian explained.
Direk Barry disclosed that the two were really close during the shoot. “Walang problema silang dalawa sobrang ganda ng chemistry nila tapos, sobrang mahal kasi nila yung isa’t isa e. Mahal pero walang label. Opo, lagi silang magkaholding hands, sweet po kasi sila e pero wala po silang label.”
The two were also asked what they like about each other that they became friends for a long time.
Julian said that he really admires Ella for being appreciative even of small things. “Minsan kasi pag mabilis na yung mga nangyayari sa buhay natin hindi po natin naaappreciate yung maliliit na bagay e, with her, she takes her time to appreciate, mag thank you, sa mga mliliit na bagay na yun na mas importante sakin.”
Ella then said that Julian is such a deep person which contradicts her perky personality.
“Sobrang masayahin kong tao, masyadong magaan yung mga nakikita ko sa paligid pero siya tinuturuan nya ako na tumingin pa ng mas malalim, na may dapat pang malaman. So, yung pagiging deep niya nashashare niya sakin, yung mga poems niya, yung pagsusulat sulat niyang yan, it helps,” she elaborated.
Since this will be their first lead role in a movie, the two admitted being pressured. Although this motivate them to do better in what they’re doing.
“Nagdadasal ako palagi na sana kung ano man po deserve naming ibibigay naman po niya,” the young actress said.
“Of course kung will talaga ni Lord na ibigay ‘tong malaking blessing na ‘to para samin, maghihintay lang po kami pero ngayon sobrang grateful kami. Yung blessings tuloy-tuloy na opportunities na binibigay ng Viva and to be able to work with these artists, and directors, yun palang po e panalo na,” Julian added.
The film mirrors the life of two people who are fans of one another. Julian plays the role of Ollie Fernandez, a one-hit boy wonder who is a big fan of Korean Actress Soo Mi Young whose voice was dubbed by Ella’s character Aimee.
On being a fangirl and fanboy themselves, Julian revealed admiration to Pop Star Princess Sarah Geronimo and Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano while Ella idolizes Dance Princess Royalty Maja Salvador and the one and only Angel Locsin.
Ella also shared the time when she was fangirling a K-Pop group called Black Pink in Korea.
“Fanboy, Fangirl” is set to open in cinemas nationwide starting September 6. The movie is produced by Joyce Bernal under Viva Films and N2 Productions, and directed by Barry Gonzales.
