President Rodrigo Duterte signed another appointment to a celebrity-politician. Jeremy Marquez was appointed Deputy Secretary-General of the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC).
Like his father, Joey Marquez, Jeremy is also a showbiz personality. On August 10, he received the assignment from the Palace.
The 37-year-old appeared in local television shows in the 2000s. Jeremy diverted his focus to politics after gaining a bachelor degree in Political Science at the De La Salle University in Dasmariñas Cavite.
In 2007, Jeremy ran for BF Homes’ Barangay Captain and won. He has been in position for another two years after his first term.
Jeremy also served as member of the Sangguniang Panlungsod or City Council. After being a councilor, Jeremy ran for Parañaque City’s Vice Mayor in the 2016 elections but unfortunately lost.
His father, Joey Marquz served as Parañaque City’s Mayor for three terms.
