- An executive from GMA Network reacted towards the viral joke of “It’s Showtime” host Vice Ganda about celebrities who are switching to Kapamilya
- According to the anonymous executive, it’s not new for them to receive sarcastic remarks about this topic
Earlier this week, social media was rocked by “It’s Showtime” host Vice Ganda when he dropped a joke about local celebrities from a network whose tagline says “Where You Belong,” but chose to move to ABS-CBN.
In the noontime show’s “Miss Q and A” segment, the host playfully asked one contestant a query about network transfers.
“Kung sinasabi na ang GMA ay where you belong, bakit sila naglilipatan?”
This instantly made the audience and even his fellow hosts to burst in laughter.
Vice immediately said that it was just a joke, “Charot lang!”
The quote became a viral topic online with millions of posts and shares within the day.
Inquirer Bandera got in touch with one of GMA’s executives to ask about the network’s reaction towards the Kapamilya host’s words.
“Sanay na kami!,” the text reply read.
The source also shared that the executive even backfired with a comment to Vice.
“Magme-mention pa ba kami ng mga artists na galing dito including him (Vice)?”
Although Vice reiterated in the program that the joke shouldn’t be taken seriously, still there were others who can’t help but voice out their opinion.
One unsolicited advice was also sent to the publication and it attacked Vice’s hosting.
“Sa sobrang pagiging maingat daw nito na hindi makasakit ng damdamin, eh, mas lalo itong nalalagay sa alanganin,” said the text. “Sana huwag muna niyang ibino-broadcast sa mikropono ang mga gusto niyang sabihin kung hindi siya sure o kung sa tingin niya ay may mao-offend siya.”
“Dati naman, nagbubulungan muna sila ng co-hosts niya o hindi ginagamit ang mic kapag may ganu’n. Ano ito, paandar o papansin?”
How about you? What’s your reaction?
