“100 Tula Para Kay Stella” caused social media users’ opinion to be divided. It started when director John Paul Laxamana began attacking netizens who gave his film bad reviews.
Laxamana responded with sarcastic remarks. One of the critics was Philbert, who posted a series of tweets ultimately addressing the director’s unruly attitude towards his audience.
Philbert earned a lot of negative comments after. A tweet from a netizen complained about Philbert’s biases. According to the post, the editor just attacked Laxamana who is a pro-Duterte. Philbert is kown to be very vocal in opposing the administration’s current policies.
The netizen even cited that Philbert doesn’t treat other directors the way he just handled Laxamana. He dropped the name of renowned director Erik Matti, who playfully joined the conversation.
“I challenge you to a fist fight as soon as you land from SF!!!! Square!!! Walang gloves!!!!,” he threatened.
Erik’s not the kind of director who’s short-tempered. Despite some criticisms he received from Philbert in the past, he chose to go along the ride.
In a follow-up tweet, Philbert updated Erik that he’s landed now from San Francisco and asked the director, “Pano ba to, @ErikMatti? Naglanding na ako.”
Erik then again playfully replied, “Kahit saan kahit kailan, di kita uurungan! I want bloooooddd!!!”
“Seklusyon” and “Ang Pagsanib Kay Leah Dela Cruz” were two of Erik’s popular movies.
