Mr. Pogi winner Edgar Allan Guzman returns back to Kapuso network for “My Korean Jagiya.”
In the recent press conference of GMA Network’s new show, the actor admitted that he believes “My Korean Jagiya” is one of his big breaks in showbiz industry.
The 28-year-old talented star is very happy to be back to where he started and was given the privilege to be part of a one-of-a-kind show like this.
“Proud, happy and super blessed kasi actually this is my first primetime show sa buong career ko sa isang big network like GMA,” he said.
“I’m very thankful kasi binigyan ako ng opportunity ng GMA na mapabilang sa My Korean Jagiya,” he said.
Looking back, Edgar won the first Mr. Pogi title back in 2006 in the longest running noon show of Tito-Vic-Joey, Eat Bulaga. He then became part of TV 5 (Kapatid) where he established his name and career.
In 2015, he transferred to ABS CBN (Kapamilya) and did several successful projects there. His last show was the long-run Kapamilya Gold teleserye, Doble Kara as Julia Montes’ another leading man.
The multi-talented star elaborated the reason why he returned to Kapuso is because he cannot decline the offer of GMA. He revealed that he’s a big fan of Heart.
“Primetime GMA Telebabad pus Heart Evangelista yung leading lady, bakit ka hihindi sa offer na yun?” he explained.
“Sinabi ko sa kaniya nung first taping ko, ‘dati pinapanuod lang kita noong di pa ako artista, ikaw yung chinita na sobrang ganda’,” he said.
Edgar admitted that it was a dream come true for him. “Sobrang crush na crush ko siya, dati pinapanood ko lang ngayon nakakaharap ko na, nakakausap ko na at nakakaeksena ko pa.”
His character will play the role of Ryan Alba, the boyfriend of Gia which is the role of Heart.
“Si Ryan mayabang, pakain, feeling pogi at babaero. Ako yung magpapatibok ng puso ni Heart pero ako rin yung sisira sa puso niya kaya siya maiinlove kay Jun Ho which is Alexander Lee,” Edgar elaborated.
Edgar also shared admiration on South Korean co-stars’ professionalism and attitude when they got the chance to bond with each other on the same tent during shooting.
“Ang hirap mag English pero masaya sila kasama, napaka down to earth lalo na si Alexander, napakabait, napakahumble,” he ended.
“My Korean Jagiya” will start airing on Monday on GMA Telebabad starring Alexander Lee, Heart Evangelista, Edgar, David Kim, Michelle Oh, Jerry Lee and many more.
