- TV Host Billy Crawford brought clarity to the issue that concerned his hosting “Little Big Shots” and bypassing singer-songwriter Ogie Alcasid
“It’s Showtime” host Billy Crawford is officially the man for ABS-CBN’s upcoming adaptation of America’s “Little Big Shots,” a competition for kids with exceptional talents.
It can be recalled that initially, the project was believed to be slated for singer-songwriter Ogie Alcasid but was then passed on to Billy.
In a recent talk with Push, the 35-year-old host clarified that they both auditioned for the spot. In fact, when he got the part, it was Ogie who first congratulated him through text.
Ogie earlier said that the job was more fit for Billy than it was for him and he took it well.
“..And I’m so happy that it went to Billy. I’m very proud of him. Obviously he deserves it more than I do,” he said in a previous interview.
Regine Velasquez, Ogie’s wife, however, expressed disappointment but later accepted the management’s decision.
“Siguro nagdamdam si Regine for me dahil gusto niya sa akin ‘yon. But like I always say mayroong nababagay sa iyo, mayroong hindi. And thinking now sa schedule ko parang ‘di ko din yata magagawa.”
“Little Big Shots” will air its pilot episode on August 12.
