The popular and iconic traditional tattooist, also known as mambabatok, Apo Whang-Od attracts many tourists and visitors every day because of her impressive skills. The 97-year-old elder from the Kalinga tribe expressed her admiration to Kapamilya actor, Coco Martin.
Whang-Od is an avid viewer of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano where Coco Martin plays the protagonist, Ricardo Dalisay.
During one of ABS-CBN News team’s visit to Whang Ud’s village, they noticed her vast collections of Coco Martin’s memorabilia.
Apo Whang-Od has a huge collection of Coco Martin’s items ranging from shirts, posters and even keeps a life-sized standee of the actor.
In a video shared by Coco Martin on his Instagram account, the old woman can be heard asking the actor to pay her a visit. “Umari agkos sina Fus-aran [Come, visit here ins Buscalan],” she said.
On Monday evening, Coco Martin PH, the actor’s official Instagram page, shared a photo of Whang-Ud holding a signed photograph of the actor. In the caption, that the iconic tribal tattooist was moved to tears because of the gift she received from the actor.
Whang-Od also received a brand new pillow and a shirt from the ABS-CBN store with the “Ang Probinsyano” star’s face on it to add to her growing number of Coco Martin collections.
As her way of saying thank you, Whang-Od gave the Coco Martin PH team her legendary tattoos.
